Alyssa sat outside propped against a tree, enjoying the cool grass the shade from the branches provided. It was midway through the day and break had finally come, so she had moved outside to enjoy her lunch considering the temperature. Though she hadn't considered how tired she would feel after eating.
Hoping it would help, she pulled out her mp3 player and slipped the headphones into her ears and gazed out at the sky from beyond the branches. She felt her eyes get heavier and heavier.....
Jolting up, Alyssa looked around, realizing she had fallen asleep. Blinking a few times she seemed to gaze around a bit, confused as to where exactly she was.
It still APPEARED to be New York.... in fact.... it looked like the school entrance... but the colors and surroundings were whispy. Everything looked dulled and seemed as if it had been blurred.... or better yet it seemed like an image cast in smoke.
"A dream wouldn't be this real.." she muttered to herself, running over to where she recalled travelling to. And there she was, leaning against the tree...seemingly asleep. In a panic she tried yelling at her body, hoping that she would wake up..... but minutes of this didn't help at all.
She ran over to the entrance and tried to get the attention of the students there.... but none of them seemed to hear her. But... she did notice that some seemed to be a little clearer than others....
Laughter from somewhere echoed in her head as things began to meld...
As her eyes opened and the bright daylight flooded her senses, Alyssa knew that the 'dream' had passed. Though as she looked around, the same exact people were around.... it was as if nothing had changed. Did she dream the present?
She shook her head to regain composure, though she probably looked about as startled and shaken as she felt.

Alex had decided to go outside for lunch. It was a beautiful sunny day so Alex decided to go to the tree grove outside the school and sit under a large oak in which he did so often. But as he drew nearer he saw a girl sitting there she seemed asleep at first so Alex went over to see if she was ok. he shook her but didn't move. She had a pulse but was not concience. "What the hell. Excuse me miss are you alright." he said kneeling down beside her. Suddenly her eyes shot open. She looked a bit shocked and dazed at the sanme time. She didn't notice Alex sitting down beside her though. "Are...are you ok." he asked again

Alyssa jumped slightly, her head quickly swiveling over to the source of the voice. When did he get there? She asked herself as she reached up to tug the headphones from her ears.
"Um... yeah. I'm fine. I guess I fell asleep....sort of." She said, unsure herself of what had really happened. She had split from her body.... and if it was reality as she had considered...then... was it simply another power?
She once again shook her head to clear her thoughts, her eyes adjusting finally to the bright daylight sun. She gave Alex a quick look over and smiled slightly at him. "It was sweet of you to check on me.... most people probably wouldn't have."

"Think nothing of it Alyssa." he then realised who she was. he had seen her once in an alleyway a few weeks ago. She held out her hand and an apple materialised out of nowhere. He didn't think anything of it until now. Until he got powers. "Are you sure your o.k. nothing out of the ordinary or anything."

She looked at the boy more closely... he seemed as if he knew something... or had.... She seemed to realize why he seemed familiar... and she noticed the recognition in his eyes. Well two things would happen with this... either he'd think she was crazy and suggest for her to visit the school psychiatrist or he'd believe her....
"It was strange... I fell asleep and seemed to be.... walking around.... outside of my body. Everything looked different and unclear... except for a few people passing by every once in awhile." She said softly, looking slightly worried that he would wig out on her any moment. But since he was there that day... this wouldn't be the wierdest thing he'd seen or heard from her.

"Thats not the only wierd thing that has happened to you is it. " Alex looked around to see if anyone could hear and then continued. "I saw you that day in the alley way when you created the apple. Don't worry I wont tell anyone. I am like you except with different abilities. There are more of us than you would think you know." he said smiling offering his hand to help her up.

She blinked, surprised.... she hadn't thought of the possibility of there being more... though there had been more then too. She accepted his hand and smiled slightly as they stood.
"Thats good to know..." She paused and thought about what he said, then an amused smile spread over her lips.
"Are you hungry? I could always conjure up another apple for you." With this she giggled, then glanced around herself. "So what are your....abilities?"

Alex smiled as Alyssa cracked a joke. She took the news very well considering what it was. "Um no I am not hungry but thank you. " Alex looked around again to make sure that they couldn't be overheard. "I am a telekinetic. I can move objects with my mind. As I was researching it said that strong telekinetics can controll things on a molecular level so thats what I am striving for. I also have this wierd ability that I can do anything really with my body. One day I just did a series of flips and sommersaults and the day before I couldn't do a cartwheel."

Her eyes lit up as Alex spoke about his telekinetic power, then the changes in his body's abilities. This made a smile grace her lips. "Honestly I don't think i've tried a cartwheel since i failed at it as a child." she laughed. "But really.... your powers are awesome."
She paused and reached in her bag, pulling out a paper clip. "I've been practicing something with my powers.... it usually takes awhile to get things to the shape i want... and I have to concentrate on it..." She lifted the paper clip with one hand and placed it in the palm of the other.
Closing her fist around it, she pictured changing the paper clip into a different shape. A simple one, to just show Alex. She wasn't great at the complex ones yet. She pictured it in the form of a detailed butterfly, with a thick core that would take a long time to make by hand. After a moment, she opened her hand again, and there was the butterfly, an exact image of what she pictured.

Alex held out his hand as he stood up. "Hey lets take a walk and we can talk more." he said with a smile on his face. "So describe this outer body experience to me again."

Alyssa accepted his hand and stood up as well, giving a nod in reply to his suggestion for a walk. She smiled at him and lapsed into silence for a moment, trying to gather the right words to describe what she had seen.
"Well.... you know how things are clear when we look around. We can see all of this stuff with no problems?" She paused for a moment and glanced around. "All of this stuff... looked like an image in smoke. Some of it was clearer than others, but that didn't have any distinct feel to it. Most of the people were like that too... their images were wavy and off-color."
