Lilith entered the cafeteria with her head down as usual. Some thought of her as trying to avoid being noticed, but in fact, she didn't care. In her opinion, school was just a stopover to bigger and better things.
She sighed inwardly, as she noticed the mad rush and crush of the student body, and shoved her long blonde hair over her shoulder. Her vibrant green eyes narrowed on the only empty table, stuffed in a corner, but at least it had a window.
She hiked her bag further up on her shoulder, the flowing sleeves of her peasant blouse rippling, and started across the room. She wove in and out between people, not paying a bit of attention to what any of them were doing.
Dropping her bag on the table, she slumped into the chair furthest in the corner. "They really need to invest in a patio," she said to no one.

Rowan had finally gotten away from the rest of the jocks so he could grab some lunch. He grabbed a slice of pizza and hoped his "friends" wouldn't follow. He really didn't like eating with them, they all talked while they chewed and...it was really gross.
When he entered the cafeteria there were many places were he could have sat but he wasn't in the mood for conversation right now. So he sat on one of the empty tables. Well there was a girl there but she really wasn't anyone that he knew so he didn't have to talk to her. When he sat down he looked at the girl and gave her a smile. Usually the jocks would have kicked her off the table but...he wasn't a regular jock. Rowan then looked down at his pizza and bit into it.

Lilith's gaze had been drawn once again to the scene outside the window, but was jerked back as she noticed someone approching the table. When he sat, she immediatly noticed he was yet another cookie-cutter student, most likely a jock. She rolled her eyes, yet watched him with detached interest, the same way she would a bug as it crawled acorss the window, only less interested.
When he smiled, she nodded cooly in return, glad he hadn't chosen to engage her in conversation, she never had much to say to these people.

Sitting there across from this girl made Rowan feel very akward and in a way mean. If his mother knew what he was doing she would kick his butt. She had always taught him to be kind and polite to everyone..maybe because it was the right thing to do but it also could have been to get herself more votes. Since she was a city council member, she needed the people's support.
Rowan then put his pizza down and reached for his water bottle in his backpack. He gulped down a sip then he looked at the girl. He smiled at her again. "Hi...Im Rowan.." he said to her. He knew that she probably didn't want to talk to him since he was a jock but...he had to try.

Lilith sighed softly as she heard him speak. What does he want she thought. She knew better than to be rude, but sometimes, she just wished that these people would leave her alone. They always wanted something, and it was usually something she refused to give.
Sighing inwardly, she returned the smile, with a reserved smile of her own, and nodded.
"Lilith. Hi," she said quietly, waiting for the usual barb, prepared to leave if nessecary.

Rowan could tell that this girl did not want to talk to him. Probably because he was a jock and she clearly wasn't. Well Rowan usually didn't judge but he did play pranks on people...a lot. So he had a bad reputation. It wasn't his fault that he had some wierd electric power...which he just had to use on unsuspecting people.
Rowan then saw the way the girl smiled and he like it. She had a very pretty smile. "You have a pretty smile, Lilith." he voiced his thougths. He usually didn't think before speaking..which could turn out pretty bad.

The remark took her completely by surpise, and it was evident in the blush the crept up her face, and her widened eyes. She opened her mouth to say something, and then promptly closed it, at a loss for once, for once in her life.
"Thank you," she said quietly, looking down. Not the response she had expected, not even close.
After several embarassing moments, she looked back up, still quiet, and reaching for what to say. First time she ahd been throw compeltely off gaurd, and she floundered for anything to break her own tension. But what could she possibly say to this guy she knew nothing about, other than that he hung out with the populars, and the entire group always seemed to be raggin' on someone. Although, he seemed different to her, somehow, but that didn't help her think of a thing to say.
