Lauren sighed as she lay on her side in her bed just gazing at her wardrobe. It was a sunday and she had nothing to do. She sat up and brushed her hair back over her shoulders. Lauren then got out of the warm bed and trudged into the living room in a pink vest top and black girls boxer knickers. She flopped down into the sofa and turned on the t.v.
The first thing she was the news, how boring, so she flicked it onto a music channel and went out into the kitchen to go make herself some breakfast whilst listening to the music on the telly.

A light rapping could be heard coming from the other side of Lauren's door. Orion stood, awaiting her answer. Having just obtained his own apartment, he thought it would be a good idea to throw a house warming party. Of course, all of his friends from around the city were invited. Orion wanted to personally invite all of the tenants around his age as he wanted to establish a positive relationship with as many people as he could. Recently, he had come out of some hard, lonely times, so now he was making as many friends and having as much fun as possible.
He knocked a few more times, shifting his weight back and forth between his right and left sides. Orion wore casual dark blue jeans with a thick grey pull over hoodie. He also wore a grey and black beanie hat with purposefully, crudely designed middle finger on it. Lauren would be the first person he'd attempt to invite and depending on her response, he'd invite others as well.

Lauren was out nodding along to the music in the kitchen when she heard someone knock on the door. She placed the knife down and walked to the front door, completely forgetting she was half dressed she opened the door to a boy, who looked round about her age. She gave him a friendly smile and spoke. "Hiya." She said cheerfully.

Slightly taken back by the hot girl who answered the door, Orion hesitated for a moment before gathering his thoughts again. He didn't expect to find any one their pajamas, so he mentally noted he may be inviting people a bit too early. Either way, he cleared his throat and brought his stare up to meet her eyes. He extended his hand as he spoke.
"Ahh..*ahem*..how's it going? I'm Orion, I just moved into the building and I thought it might be fun to throw a house warming shin dig. I'm gonna invite most of the building and my own friends, so it should be a cool way to get to know the neighbors. What do ya say...-"
Reaching into the pocket on the front of his hoody, he produced a single flier, advertising the party with Orion's address and cell phone listed. It also gave information on the party itself, including the time it started. As he held out the flier, he realized in all his babbling, he forgot to ask her name.
"..sorry...mind if I ask your name?"

Lauren listened to the boy talk about a house warming party. It sounded like a good idea and was a great way of meeting new people. Lauren occaisionally nodded along, a sign to show she was listening to him."Err yeah sure I'll come. I don't think I have anything planned." Said Lauren as she took the flier and gave it a quick glance. She gave a slight laugh when orion relised he did not even know her name yet. "My names Lauren, Lauren Winters." She said with a smile and shaking Orions hand. "Uhh you wanna come in?" She asked indicating behind her.

"Sure..those stairs from the basement are murder. Thanks."
Orion gently shook her hand before letting go. Looking into the apartment behind her, he noticed how much better furnished it was than his own. Though his was larger, it was much...shabbier as well. He was impressed as the same song she had been listening to was the first song on the party's playlist.
"Nice place you've got here."

Lauren smiled and opened the door wider to let Orion in. She closed the door behind him and gave him a nod as she agreed the stairs were too much. "Yeah there should be an elevator or something, but gurantee ya it will constantly be breaking down." Said Lauren with a slight laugh. She watched as Orion eyed her apartment and yet again smiled when he said it was a nice place. "Thank you." She said. With that she placed her hands on her hips and relised she was still half dressed. She looked down at her self and then up again. "Maybe I should get dressed. Why don't you go wait in the living room and I'll be with ya in five." Said Lauren as she pointed to were the living room was.

Orion could help but smile when she did. She really was pretty, and not because of what she was wearing. Orion nodded before making his way into the living room and sitting on the couch. He slapped his knees in tune with the song that was playing as he waited. It wasn't very long before he became distracted and began looking around.
He noticed a balcony and he was intrigued. He knew he probably shouldn't wander around in her apartment, but his own apartment didn't even have any windows and he'd yet to see the city skyline. Slowly opening the door, he stepped out onto the balcony and leaned on the ledge. He looked out at the huge city before him. Having recently just come to New York, he was fairly unfamiliar with it, but the size of it alone made him just want to explore the entire city.

Lauren wandered into her room and pulled out some clothes. She quickly pulled on a light pink vest top and a pair of light blue hipster jeans. once fully clothed she brushed her hair and then made her way into the living room where she had left Orion. She glanced around the room and couldn't see him anywere. Suddenly a gust of wind blew across her face and she saw him out on the balcony. She smiled and walked over then stood next to him on the balcony. "Great view huh?" She said as she looked out across the city.

"It's unbelievable. So many different people, doing so many different things. When you really step back and look at things..it really makes you feel kind of...small, you know?"
Realizing he had digressed, he quickly changed the subject, looking over at Lauren once more. He wanted to make sure he wasn't over staying his welcome there. Reaching into his back pocket, he took out his cell phone. Due to him forgetting to charge it, it began beeping as it was about to die. He noted the time before flipping the face of the phone open.
He aimed at the view they were admiring before snapping a picture. He set it as his wall paper before closing the phone.
"My apartment doesn't even have windows..."

Lauren gazed out across the huge city. She knew exactly what Orion meant. "It's even better at night. You knwo with all the lights and everything." Said Lauren still looking across the city. She heard a click and looked round to Orion. She noticed he had taking a picture of the city and was slightly confused why. Once he had told her his apartment didn't have windows it had completely cleared the whold photo thing up. "Oh right. That must....well not suck because it would be a great place to have a party like you are thorwing which I'm deffinatly coming to. I don't know I'd just feel abit trapped." Said Lauren hoping not to sound to negative, but Lauren was one of those care free girls who liked to be out and about. "You wanna drink?" She asked turning her attention back to Orion

"Eh, the place isn't too bad. At least I get my privacy. But I definitely know what you mean. I can't sit in their for more than 2 hours without feeling like I'll go crazy with boredom."
Orion nodded, being reassured that Lauren was coming to the party. Definitely a good thing, as far as he was concerned.
"Do you have any Cristal?"
Orion smiled as he put his phone away. He tucked his hands into his pocket on his Hood.
"No, I'm kidding. Uh, water's fine. Haven't had any of that in a while. Can I ask you something, Lauren?"

Lauren nodded and gave a slight laugh as Orion said he'd go crazy if he stayed in the apartment for more than a couple of hours. "Yeah I do like being indoors, but I can't stay inside for to long." Said Lauren. She walked over to the door way and glanced at the telly as she began listening to the radio hosts talk about something about raves. Her attention was brought off of the telly when Orion told her what drink he would like. "Ok." She said and walked out to the kitchen.
From the kitchen she could still hear Orion talking. She filled up two glasses of water and then brung them into the living room. She sat down on the sofa and looked back at Orion when he asked her if he could ask her something. "Uh yeah sure." She said placing the glasses on the table.

"Well it just occured to me that 15 minutes ago we didn't know each other at all. I mean, why trust me? You let me in your apartment, you're all hospitable...not that I don't trust you or anything it's just...why?"
Casually taking a drink from the glass, he sat on the sofa beside her, but turned his body so that he was still facing her. To Orion, she seemed too nice...too...perfect.

Lauren was slightly confused at Orions question that she had to think about it for a minute. She bit her bottom lip as she thought and then began to answer. "Well you invited me to a party. It was the least I could do and plus I'm not afraid of meeting new people." Said Lauren with a slight shrug. She took another gulp of water before placing the cup down again on the table. "Why you ask?" Asked Lauren with a slight frown as she was still wondering why Orion had asked her a question like that.
